Soft in colour, full in shape.
Cream white, dusty pink and soft purple sit so close together that your eye never catches anywhere. The flowers themselves are full and round: double tulips, double daffodils, thick clusters. Lovely beside a terrace where you sit down.
You plant everything here in the same autumn, from September to November. Tulips can even go in until mid-December. The card on each bag tells you how deep and how far apart.
The daffodils begin in March and April, the double tulips follow in April and May. So the garden shifts from one soft colour into the next for a few weeks.
Large pots by the terrace work too. Tulips, daffodils and hyacinths all do well there.
