Description
In January and February the very first iris blooms. She barely reaches 15 centimeters high. The flowers look painted with a fine brush.
Light blue, yellow and green sit in the same flower. This is a renowned reticulata hybrid. She holds the Award of Garden Merit from the British Royal Horticultural Society. That is a prize for plants that perform well in the garden. She belongs with crocuses and snowdrops. The same time, the same place. Choose stony soil that drains well. Full sun to partial shade is fine. Plant in October. A rock garden or the front of a border suits her best. She has a soft scent and bees find her. Every year she appears again. Honestly, frost can damage an open flower. That fits her character.
